Walks

There are many small walks in the grounds and a five hundred metre path to the south facing beach which is safe for swimming and from which walks of many miles can commence.  Between 3 and 30 km, there are harbours, beaches, quiet country roads, many mountains, rivers and lakes, four seaside resorts and Sligo (18,000), the largest regional town in the North West, 19km away.

Games Room

There is a table tennis table in the games room/converted stable and outside plenty of space for children to play hide and seek and to roam and discover.

Horse Riding

Just 13km away in Grange is Island View Riding Stables offering daily rides to Trawalua Beach, Cliffoney, and lessons.  There is also the Horse Holiday Farm in Grange offering week-long holidays following the bridal paths and trails in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

Surfing

Bundoran in Co Donegal (28 km away) is often referred to as  ‘Ireland’s Surfing Capital’. The coastal area is blessed with a large range and variety of beach, reef and point breaks. From the World class reef break of "The Peak" to the ever consistent Tullan Strand, Bundoran has a suitable wave for all styles and levels of surfer.

Cultural

Lissadell House and Gardens was the childhood home of Constance Markievicz, her sister Eva Gore Booth and her brother Josslyn Gore Booth. Constance was one of the leaders of the 1916 Rising, and was the first woman to be elected to Dail Eireann, where she served as Minister for Labour, and was  the first woman to be elected to the House of Commons at Westminster, London (where she declined to take her seat). Eva was a poet of distinction and an active suffragist, clashing with the young Winston Churchill over barmaids' rights in 1908. Josslyn created at Lissadell one of the premier horticultural estates in Europe.  Sligo born poet ,W. B. Yeats was friendly with the Gore Booth sisters and stayed at Lissadell in 1893 and 1894. He immortalised Lissadell and the Gore Booth sisters in his poetry.

Business Meetings

The extended dining table in the dining room can be used for small business meetings or conferences, press releases etc. Free WIFI available too.
